LED, Light Emitting Diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that can directly convert electrical energy into light energy. The core principle is based on the release of energy and emission of light in the form of photons when electrons and holes recombine in semiconductor materials. When a forward voltage is applied to the two poles of the LED, electrons move from the N-type semiconductor region to the P-type semiconductor region and recombine with holes at the PN junction. During this process, energy is radiated as specific wavelengths of light, and the color of the light depends on the bandgap of the semiconductor material used. Different material combinations can produce light in different spectral ranges from ultraviolet to infrared, such as blue light (using materials such as gallium nitride), red light (such as aluminum gallium indium phosphide), green light (gallium nitride), etc.
